Lauren is a junior majoring in English Secondary Education with a CLS Certificate.  Come to her Spinology classes for a fun, variety-filled, and high-energy workout!

Erica Andrist is a first-year med student, but is still a normal person. In addition to spinning, she loves running, swimming, and lifting. When not at the gym, she cooks, reads, and spends time with her cat, Jose. If you want to sculpt some serious muscles, get pumped up by music ranging from hip-hop to Latin to *NSYNC, and aren't perturbed by an exceptionally sweaty instructor, you'll enjoy her class.

Sarah Friedman is currently a junior majoring in Kinesiology--Exercise and Movement Science. She is trained in several genres of dance, and is now committed to a regular yoga practice as a way to heal her body from the rigors of dance. Sarah currently teaches Powerflow at the SERF.

Lynette Davis is an art major in her final year here at UW-Madison and is super-excited to be teaching spinology! When not confined to the metals studio, you'll find her swimming, cycling, running, or lifting weights. She has some fun and intense workouts planned and always welcomes suggestions for your favorite songs and/or drills!

Jess Kazmierczak is thrilled to be teaching the new Drill Down class as well as Group Strength this year! She is a sophomore majoring in Biochemistry and German. She hopes you will join her for a high-energy workout where you can challenge yourself alongside a great group of other motivated individuals.

Julie Wilson is a senior majoring in Dietetics. She teaches core crunch, group strength, and cardio strength. You are likely to see her running back and forth along lake shore path as she is currently training for her first marathon in her home city of Chicago!

My name is Maison Gustke and I teach both Core Crunch and Drill Down at the SERF. I'm a sophmore majoring in International Studies and Spanish. After I graduate, I plan to travel the world sharing the Gospel Message of Jesus Christ to as many people as I can!

Veronica Alzalde is a graduate student working towards a Master’s in Musicology. After graduation, Veronica plans to become a music librarian.  Veronica is thrilled to teach classes such as Powerflow, Group Strength, and Core Crunch.  Veronica will lead you through a challenging, but fun workout!

My name is Christian Truong, and I'm a senior majoring in Food Engineering and Environmental Studies. I currently teach Spinology and I've been teaching for over 2 years now. I've always been interested in fitness and being active has always been an important part of my life. As for a fun nearly useless fact: I could not find a croissant representative of the ones I remembered as a Parisian child until I bought one for $6 dollars at the Wynn in Las Vegas.

My name is April Dovorany and I am a Senior @ UW Majoring in Journalism and Mass Communication. I also work as a Group X Instructor, nursing assistant and as a news intern at NBC15. Between all this I find time to fit in writing for the Badger Herald. I also enjoy traveling and laying out

She's not all work though, she will be taking her fifth cruise this January.

Sarah Jane is a graduate student in the Zoology Department, and when she is not studying animal behavior, she is teaching and designing PowerFlow classes. Hi, my name is Renee! I'm in my 5th year as an Secondary English-Education major, but I like to refer to this year as my "Victory Lap." I've been teaching spinning for over 2 years and am excited to continue biking to tunes from the Red Hot Chili Peppers, Queen and the sweet sounds of "Night of the Roxbury." When I'm not on the bike, I can be found enjoying true WI pepperjack cheese or eating loads of peanut butter.

Hey guys!  I’m Jenny and am a sophomore this year majoring in Industrial Engineering.  In high school I was an student athlete participating in cross-country running, cross-country skiing, softball, track, and figure skating.  During my first semester here at Madison I was also a rower in the Women’s Crew Team.  After deciding that rowing wasn’t for me I tried out the spinning classes at the SERF and fell in love with the intense but fun workouts.  This year I also am planning on skiing my first American Birkebeiner (a world class cross-country ski race) in my hometown.  I love incorporating all types of different music in my class including the latest hits, pop, classic rock, techno, and a little bit of country and rap.  Come to my class and enjoy working up a sweat!

Liz Percak-Dennett is a second year graduate student in Astrobiology, who is a recent transplant from Alaska.   In addition to spending copious amounts of time in lab, she also loves not doing homework, watching TV, cupcakes, half marathons and dinosaurs.  Although she’s been known to whip out some Brittany in the middle of a Spin class, for the most part she keeps it classy with a variety of music ranging form the classics such as Journey and Bon Jovi, to the same music that kids these days listen to. Her Spinology classes will provide motivation, hills, and some awesome music to melt away school stress, and to make you feel like a total cycling rock star.

  • I used to take spin classes at the Princeton Club when I as in high school- but I believe our “Spinology” program puts them to shame. ( plus,  Spinology is a way sweeter name than Spinning)
  • I made the Resistance-Scale poster, so feel free to come up front and compliment me on the bubble letters, shading, or design of the fabulous poster.
  • I played basketball for the Badgers my freshman year; I averaged about 20 a game. ( seconds that is)

My name is Elyse Bolterstein and I'm in my 4th year of teaching spinology and 6th (and hopefully final) year as a graduate student in Molecular and Environmental Toxicology.  In addition to loving spinning, I'm an avid runner and road biker and like to spend a lot of my free time outdoors.  This year, I'll be helping you start out your day on the right foot by leading fun, energetic and challenging classes at the SERF Monday and Thursday mornings.  I hope to see you there!
