Currently enrolled UW-Madison students pay the Recreation Fee through payment of the Segregated University Fee(s) when tuition is paid. In order to gain access to each Rec facility, students must present a valid UW-Madison I.D. card (Wiscard) upon entrance. The term Segregated University Fee(s) (SUF) describes charges in addition to instructional fees assessed to all students for services, programs and facilities that support the primary mission of the university. Segregated university fees may only be used to support student services activities as defined by the UW System Uniform Chart of Accounts and further limited by FAP - Student Services Funding (G15).
To participate in Recreational Sports programs and facilities this summer, students must have enrolled status in any of UW-Madison’s summer classes or purchase a $15 Student Summer Membership at any Recreational Sports office.
All students enrolled in UW-Madison Spring or Fall 2010 classes are eligible to purchase a Student Summer Membership. This includes study abroad students, spring graduates, incoming freshmen, and transfer students.
Students enrolled in any UW-Madison summer classes do not have to purchase a membership, because they are paying tuition, which includes segregated fees that supplement Recreational Sports.
All sales are final. Refunds will not be given to students who decide to enroll in summer classes after purchasing a summer membership.

University Special Students enroll for regularly offered UW-Madison courses and typically pay the same per-credit cost as undergraduates. Since payment of seg fees is included in their tuition, an additional Membership fee is not required.
